What Is Podiatry?
Podiatry is the medical field dealing with all aspects of care of the lower limb, sometimes also known as Chiropody. This can cover everything from nail and foot care, to the management of complex chronic conditions.

Jennifer Spencer, Ian Drakard and Ellen Wade are all degree qualified and Health Professions Council (HPC) Registered Podiatrists.
Jennifer qualified in 1983 and has a range of experience in the NHS and private practice. She has had a clinic in Holt for nearly ten years, and enjoys all aspects of general practice.
Ian qualified in 2007 and, in addition to general practice, has a special interest in sports and biomechanics (the area of Podiatry looking at the structure and movement of the body and how this relates to problems).
Ellen qualified in 1997 with a first class honours degree. Before she moved to Norfolk in 2007, she gained extensive experience in private practice. Ellen has a special interest in children’s foot health (podopaediatrics) and the management of Acquired Adult Flatfoot, a difficult condition which can benefit from early podiatric treatment.
Holt Foot Clinic is easily found in the centre of Holt, in the yard of the Railway Towers. Limited parking is available.
Wells Foot Clinic is based in Wells Community Hospital on Mill Road. There is patient parking available, and bookings can also be made directly through the hospital.
Both clinics are modern and well equipped with ground floor access.
Your first appointment will usually last up to an hour. In addition to details of any foot and leg problems, a general medical history is taken, including details of any medication you may take.
For sports and biomechanical problems we have a look at footwear and walking/running so it is advisable to wear shorts or loose fitting clothing.
